Friends day meals and festivities will take place at The Westminster Lodge, located at 80 Denton Lake Road in Holmes, NY. Most navigation apps and GPS units can provide excellent directions, or you can find driving directions here. Keep your eyes out for signs that will direct you to the parking lot once you arrive.

Saturday check-in for meals and activities begins at 11:30 am with the invocation followed by lunch at about Noon. We ask that in order to allow our staff and volunteers time to prepare, you do not arrive at check-in before 11:30. If you have rented lodging at Holmes Camp & Retreat Center for Saturday night you may check in at this time.

There will be a presentation by Holmes Camp & Retreat Center and camp alumni during lunch.   

All meals and activities on Saturday will take place at the Westminster Lodge.

Activities begin at 1:30 pm and include:

  • Boating and swimming – go canoeing, rowing, or tryout our Holmes’ new kayaks
  • Inflatables – be ready to get wet!
  • Lawn & Camp Games – cornhole, giant board games, and more
  • Tie-Dye – Bring your own white cotton items or have a Holmes t-shirt or tote-bag on us.  
  • Friendship Bracelets – A classic camp craft
  • Guided Hike & Nature Walk (3 PM) – Explore the trails and nature of Holmes.
  • Camp Store
  • And More…

Worship will begin at about 5 pm and is led Rev. Tim Coombs and Rev. Kathy Gorman-Coombs, camp alumni and co-pastors of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Scotia, NY.

Dinner will begin at about 5:30 pm.  

Additionally throughout the weekend there will be activities that have been organized by camp friends and alumni including a reception on Saturday evening to honor Paul Verdesi and his fifty years of service to Holmes Camp & Retreat Center.

GROUP RESERVATION
For groups larger than 10 we ask that you give us a call to register at 845.878.6383 ext 1. We will work with one contact from your church/club/organization. Your individual participants will not need to register online. The Group contact person will collect all the required information and get it to us two weeks prior to Friends Day. For large groups, car pooling or bus transportation is strongly suggested.

LODGING
Agape Center and Vinik Hilltop have sold out. To be added to the waitlist email Holmes@holmescamp.org. We do have a couple other options as well.

Camping is available at the Robinson Pavilion. Robinson has electric and bathrooms with showers. Bring your tent and have a good old fashion camp out! Camping is $10 per person, per night. Call 845.878.6383 ext 1 or email Holmes@holmescamp.org to reserve your space. RV’s are also welcome, however Robinson does not have RV hook ups.
