Aquatics School
June 26-30, 2011
Holmes Presbyterian Camp & Conference Center, an American Camp Association Accredited Camp, will be conducting an Aquatics School for those who would like to receive an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification, and for those who would like to become re-certified both as a Lifeguard and in First Aid and/or CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Luch and Dinner will be served daily.
June 26-30: (Sunday - Friday ) - 8:30 a.m. each day except Sunday start 7:00 pm
Life-guarding for all NEW Lifeguards (entire course):
This course includes training in First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
Pre-requisite: Swim 550 yards continuously, this includes: 200 yards of front crawl (freestyle) using rhythmic breathing and a stabilizing, propellant kick, 200 yards of breaststroke using a pull, breathe, kick and glide sequence and 150 yards of front crawl or breaststroke or a combination of both. Timed Event - Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7–10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object, place it on the deck and exit the water without using a ladder or steps within 1 min 40 secs.

Course Fees
There is a $50 non refundable fee for any cancellation
The water elements of these courses will be taught in Westminster Lake at Holmes Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center. You may commute, or stay at camp. If you commute you must be at camp by 8:30 a.m.
Text books are available for purchase (or loan) at registration
- First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer for those who have never taken it or with expired certification includes lunch and dinner - $75
- Entire course for New Lifeguards includes lunch and dinner each day - $350
lodging and breakfast (additional) - $160 - Recertification of Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer includes lunch and dinner - $150
For those who would like to stay at camp and are not here for the full course, the fees will be as follows:
Lodging (including breakfast) - $40 pp per night
